According to reliable tipster Digital Chat Station, the OnePlus 12 could be amongst the first smartphones to be powered by the upcoming Qualcomm Inc. QCOM Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, ahead of even Samsung, which has had a tight grip on Qualcomm's flagship chipset supplies recently.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset is said to offer a big leap in terms of CPU and graphics performance – rumors so far point at a 20% bump in CPU performance and up to 50% jump in graphics performance, with efficiency expected to remain at the same level as its predecessor.
Paired with this powerful chipset could be up to 24GB of RAM, allowing users to multitask without ever worrying about running out of memory or witnessing any slowdown.
Geared For Gamers: The OnePlus 12 leaks so far suggest that it could be geared for gamers. Reports claim that it could include a large vapor chamber for heat dissipation and keeping the device cool even during extended gaming sessions.
Leaked images so far also point at a curved display – the OnePlus 12 could sport a 6.7-inch Quad HD+ resolution display with 120Hz refresh rate, with support for high-frequency pulse-width modulation dimming. This would make the phone's display easier to look at since the high-frequency PWM dimming helps users who are sensitive to screen flickering.
Other features we know of so far include a 50MP camera with a Sony sensor, a 50MP ultrawide camera, and a 64MP periscope camera. Reports suggest that the OnePlus 12 could support 100W fast charging, but the US market could get a slightly lower capacity charger, going by past OnePlus launches.
