Ex-President Donald Trump’s campaign team mocked Florida Governor Ron DeSantis ahead of the first Republican presidential debate, even though Trump himself did not attend the event, Business Insider reports.
Trump’s campaign handed out pudding snack packs – a reference to an article on Daily Beast that claimed DeSantis once ate a chocolate pudding dessert with his fingers.
They also handed out debate bingo cards featuring phrases such as “Dismisses poll,” “Ron defends slavery,” “Gaslight covid record,” and “nervous laugh.” The cards even included different pronunciations of DeSantis’ surname, namely “Dee-Santis” and “Duh-Santis.”

The Trump team has consistently targeted DeSantis, who first ran for governor in 2018 with Trump’s sought-after endorsement.
DeSantis’ campaign representatives have dismissed these actions as part of the establishment’s efforts against him and have vowed to continue to fight against such tactics.
