Want Faster Data Transfer Speeds On iPhone 15? You Might Have To Avoid This Model

Apple Inc. AAPL is finally embracing the USB-C port on iPhones, with the iPhone 15 series scheduled to launch in the next few weeks, but buyers who want faster data transfer speeds will have to be careful and avoid the standard iPhone 15.

What Happened: The iPhone 15 series is widely expected to feature the highly anticipated USB-C port. However, there is a catch that iPhone fans need to be aware of if they are looking to upgrade.

According to tipster and collector of rare Apple products Kosutami, the standard iPhone 15 will use the older USB 2.0 technology despite Apple switching to a USB-C port. This will limit the data transfer as well as charging speeds.

Apple is expected to instead give a boost to the more expensive iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, using USB 3.0 technology along with the USB-C port.

Why Is It Important: Apple switching to the USB-C port does not guarantee faster data transfer speeds – it is merely the port design. Apple still has to deploy the faster USB technology, which determines how quickly data is transferred.

With the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max expected to cost at least $100 more than their predecessors from last year, Apple could be shoring up some exclusive features to justify the price hike.

For instance, the iPhone 15 Pro Max is expected to feature a new Periscope camera that allows for better zooming capabilities. It is also expected to feature a new titanium design. Both the Pro models are also likely to be powered by the faster Apple A17 Bionic chipset, while the standard models will use last year's A16 Bionic chipset instead.

With the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max offering a range of more features, including faster data transfer speeds, you might want to avoid the vanilla iPhone 15.
