Donald Trump's Daughter-In-Law Says Georgia Indictment 'Solidified' Ex-President's 2024 Run: 'His Poll Numbers Continue To Rise'

Donald Trump‘s daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, said the recent legal challenges faced by the former President in Georgia “solidified” his chances in the 2024 presidential race.

What Happened:  Lara Trump, in an interview with Fox News, labeled the case against the ex-president to be politically driven and said that the public comprehends the scenario and inferred that these developments have solidified Donald Trump’s position as a potential 47th U.S. President, The Hill reported.

Despite leading in GOP primary polls, Trump’s head-to-head polls with current President Joe Biden are close. Lara Trump anticipates a shift in this trend as Republican voters comprehend the weight of their votes.

"I don't think it will work. I think people understand what is going on, and I think tonight just solidified Donald Trump as the 47th president of the United States," she said.

"His poll numbers continue to rise every single time they try to throw something like this his way because I think it becomes more and more obvious to the country what they're trying to do and why it is so dangerous – why this precedent can not succeed here in America."

Why It Matters: As part of his Georgia state court racketeering case, Donald Trump surrendered himself at the Fulton County Jail in Atlanta on Thursday. The case accuses Donald Trump of orchestrating a plan to overturn the 2020 election results in Georgia by generating counterfeit electoral college votes.

The trial for one of the defendants, former Trump attorney Kenneth Cheseboro, is slated to commence on Oct. 23. Prosecutors aim to initiate all 19 defendants’ cases on this date, a strategy opposed by Trump’s legal team.

Meanwhile, more than two years after being banned from Twitter, Donald Trump has taken to the Elon Musk-acquired and rebranded social media platform, X. Trump on Thursday shared his infamous mugshot taken during his booking at Fulton County jail.
