EV giant Tesla Inc TSLA is offering some customers the opportunity to experience the Model S Plaid on a test track.
What Happened: Tesla sent out email invites to specific users for its exclusive Plaid Track Day at Fremont factory, California. The invite extends to the recipient and a friend.
At the event, users will have the opportunity to ride along in the Model S Plaid on a test track, meet local Tesla owners, and attend a DIY service workshop. Refreshments shall also be served at the limited-space event, and a screenshot of the mail shared on X read.
Some users on X.com assume that the invites have only been sent out to users in the California region. However, some from the region have flagged that they haven’t received an invite, leaving the criteria for an invite under question.
Why It Matters: Tesla CEO Elon Musk has previously termed the Plaid “incredible,” “fun,” “sublime,” “sick,” and “alien technology” on different occasions.
The Model S Plaid is Tesla’s all-electric car with a range of 396 miles, a top speed of 200 mph, and 1,020 horsepower. It is capable of accelerating from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 1.99 seconds and carries a price tag of $108,490.
