After posting for the first time in two years on Elon Musk-owned X (formerly known as Twitter), former U.S. President Donald Trump returned to Truth Social, a rival of X owned by Trump Media & Technology Group, to express his fondness for the platform.
What Happened: Trump took to his social media Truth Social on Friday, declaring in all caps, “I love Truth Social. It is my home!!!”
His post on Truth Social came minutes after he posted on X, days after being lifted from a two-year ban by the company.
His Twitter post on Thursday was a controversial, now infamous, mug shot taken at the time of his booking at Fulton County jail, along with the link to his personal website, which directs people toward donating money for his presidential campaign.

Trump on Thursday willingly appeared at the Fulton County jail in Georgia, where he went through the booking procedure. This action was related to 13 felony charges associated with an alleged scheme to overturn the outcomes of the Georgia presidential election.
Why It Matters: Trump’s post on X was his first since Jan. 8, 2021, just two days after the events at the Capitol.
Trump’s X profile was reinstated on the platform in November last year. Twitter suspended his account following the Capitol riots on Jan. 6, and it was reintroduced under the leadership of Musk, who purchased the company for $44 billion in October 2022.
Trump has been regularly posting on Truth Social in the last two years.
The former president has 6.39 million followers on Truth Social and about 86.7 million on X.
