Apple Is Amongst The Best In Terms Of Software Updates
It's worth noting that Apple doesn't drop support for iPhones easily – iPhones are amongst the longest-supported smartphones in the world. Apple actively provided iOS updates for five years, but it has often issued some urgent security updates to older devices.
For instance, the iPhone 5s, launched in 2013, received a security update in 2023 – ten years after its launch.
The iOS 17 update will land alongside the iPadOS 17, macOS Sonoma, and watchOS 10 update. These software updates will be announced alongside the iPhone 15 series launch. Apple is also expected to launch the Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2.
