In the midst of conflicting operations in southern Ukraine, front-line soldiers report that one of their biggest concerns is the threat of airborne, guided bombs, Business Insider reported.
Oleksandr Solonko, a communications specialist in Kyiv’s military, took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to shed light on the ongoing conflict in the occupied Zaporizhzhia region. Solonko highlighted the challenges posed by Moscow’s powerful guided bomb, and the complex defenses of Russia, including minefields, trenches, tunnels, and anti-tank obstacles.
"The enemy’s advantage in the air,” Solonko noted, has led to significant losses of Ukraine’s armored vehicles.
“KAB’s are one of the biggest fears,” he added, referring to Russia’s guided bombs. These weapons, some weighing over 3,000 pounds, have been identified as a serious threat to Ukrainian operations.
Recently, Ukrainian forces celebrated a victory by raising their flag in Robotyne, a small village in the Zaporizhzhia region. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed his gratitude to the soldiers, acknowledging their efforts in ensuring the Ukrainian flag is hoisted in its rightful place.
Despite the slow progress, Ukraine continues to push through in what has been a challenging counteroffensive. Clearing Russia’s well-established defensive lines has proven to be a painstaking task for Kyiv’s troops.
