Trump Says This GOP Rival Would Be 'Very Good' For VP Role: 'I Have To Like A Guy Like That'

Former President Donald Trump has shown high praise for GOP presidential hopeful Vivek Ramaswamy, indicating a potential Vice Presidential role for the latter.

What Happened: In a conversation with Glenn Beck on Blaze TV on Tuesday, Trump voiced his admiration for the entrepreneur and fellow GOP presidential nominee, Ramaswamy, saying, “I think he'd be very good” for vice-president role, The Hill reported.

Trump responded favorably when quizzed about the likelihood of Ramaswamy being his running mate. "Well, I think he's great. Look, anybody that said I'm the best president in a generation … I have to like a guy like that," Trump said.

The former president described Ramaswamy as “a smart, young, talented, and highly intelligent individual.” "He's got good energy, and he could be in some form of something. I tell ya, I think he'd be very good. I think he's really distinguished himself."

Why It Matters: Currently, Ramaswamy, known for his contentious remarks and burgeoning poll numbers, holds the third position in the GOP presidential race, as per a RealClearPolitics average of polls.

The relationship between Trump and Ramaswamy has been steadily progressing. Trump had previously named Ramaswamy as the winner of the GOP presidential debate due to his praises for the former president.

Earlier, in an interview with ABC, Ramaswamy downplayed the relevance of other candidates in the race, stating that only he and Trump matter in the current race.
