Kim Jong Un's Armed Forces Carried Out A Nuclear Strike Drill Against South Korea: 'Fired Two Tactical Missiles'

North Korea has conducted a tactical nuclear strike drill, launching two ballistic missiles into the Sea of Japan, according to a state media report.

In response to the deployment of U.S. strategic bombers to the Korean Peninsula for an exercise alongside South Korea, a test was carried out, as reported by Kyodo News.

The Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) stated on Thursday that a missile unit of the Korean People’s Army “fired two tactical ballistic missiles northeastward” and “correctly carried out its nuclear strike mission.”

The U.S.-South Korean exercise was lambasted by North Korea as a “serious threat” and equivalent to plans for a U.S. pre-emptive nuclear strike. The missile launches followed the deployment of U.S. B-1B bombers for a joint exercise with South Korean forces.

It was reported that Kim Jong Un, the leader of North Korea, visited the training command post of the General Staff of the Korean People’s Army, where he oversaw a command drill.

KCNA reported that the drill aimed to repel a sudden enemy invasion and switch to an all-out counterattack, occupying the entire southern territory. North Korea has consistently criticized joint U.S.-South Korea military exercises as invasion rehearsals.
