Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates shared a playlist he made on Spotify Inc. SPOT after getting inspired by Grammy and Oscar-winning musician Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson — and includes some class and hidden gems.
What Happened: On the third episode of his “Unconfuse Me” podcast, Gates and Questlove delved into their shared interests in plant-based meat products and music.
On Thursday, Gates took to X, formerly Twitter, and unveiled his Spotify playlist, aptly titled “Blue Moon Mix, Inspired By Questlove.”
This curated collection boasts a diverse array of 30 songs, a musical journey that spans generations and genres. From Michael Jackson’s iconic “Thriller” to The Roots’ soulful “One Shine,” this playlist promises a listening experience that transcends boundaries.
But Gates didn’t stop there.
His playlist spans across musical eras, encompassing classics like The Beatles’ “Hey Jude,” funk anthems like Sly & The Family Stone’s “Everyday People,” and even contemporary hits like Drake’s “Hotline Bling.”
Why It’s Important: The tech mogul announced his podcast “Getting Unconfused with Bill Gates” last month, saying, “I like to talk to smart people who can help me understand the subject better.”
The inaugural episode featured Seth Rogen and Lauren Miller, and the topic of conversation was about mental health, Alzheimer and cannabis.
In the second episode, Gates invited Sal Khan, the founder of Khan Academy, and the discussion centered around the transformative potential of AI in education.
