GOP Presidential Hopeful Vivek Ramaswamy On UFOs: 'We Deserve A Government That Stops Lying To Its People'

What Happened: Famed entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy took to Twitter on Tuesday to voice his concern over the frivolous handling of Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAPs) discussions by politicians. His tweet comes in the wake of recent events where UAPs have been a topic of debate in the political arena.

Ramaswamy’s tweet is seemingly a response to Chris Christie, a Republican presidential candidate, who laughed off a question about UAPs during a GOP primary debate. Christie, the former Governor of New Jersey, dismissed the question by joking about being from New Jersey and then shifted the conversation towards more ‘pressing’ issues.

Why It Matters: The handling of UAPs has become a contentious issue in recent times. In a recent Benzinga article, Ryan Graves, a former Navy pilot and founder of Americans for Safe Aerospace, criticized Christie for his dismissive response.

Several lawmakers have demanded transparency about alleged secret UFO programs, as reported in a Benzinga article. There have been claims of extraterrestrial aircraft and bodies being in US custody, leading to calls for more transparency from the federal government.

The White House, however, has maintained that they do not have definitive answers about the numerous sightings of UAPs. This stance was highlighted in a Benzinga report where, where a National Security Council spokesperson stated that these unexplained sightings have impacted training ranges and pilots' readiness, thus making it a national security issue.
