According to a recent court filing with the Fulton County Superior Court, former President Donald Trump is seeking to separate his Georgia criminal election interference case from his 18 co-defendants, CNBC reported.
The plea came shortly after Trump denied 13 criminal charges related to allegations of trying to overturn his loss in Georgia’s 2020 election to President Joe Biden.

The defense attorney, Steven Sadow, argues that the set trial date of October 23 would not give Trump ample time to prepare his defense. Sadow has also highlighted his own scheduling conflict as he is due to participate in another trial starting in late September.
The Atlanta District Attorney, Fani Willis, who is prosecuting the case against Trump, is asking for all defendants granted speedy trials to be tried collectively. Trump is currently facing a total of 91 charges in four separate criminal cases.
