Jamie Raskin Calls On GOP To Subpoena Affinity Partners Linked To Jared Kushner's Saudi-Backed Fund

Democratic Congressman Jamie Raskin is urging the House Oversight Committee to inspect Donald Trump‘s son-in-law Jared Kushner’s financial dealings, particularly his $3 billion private equity fund, Affinity Partners, Business Insider reported.

Raskin has requested Republican James Comer, the committee’s GOP chairman, to subpoena Affinity for records that the committee’s Democrats have been requesting for over a year.

The request draws special attention to a $2 billion investment from Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF), presided over by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS). MBS had considerable interaction with Kushner during his tenure as a senior advisor under Trump.

Despite skepticism from some Saudi officials, MBS intervened to facilitate the deal, according to reports by the New York Times. Affinity Partners, which now operates from Miami, did not respond immediately to requests for comments.

While Congressman Comer admitted in a recent CNN interview that Kushner’s dealings “crossed the line of ethics,” his spokesperson, Austin Hacker, dismissed Raskin’s request as a diversion tactic from the ongoing Hunter Biden investigation.
