Watch: Fisker PEAR's 'Houdini' Trunk Could Be A City-Dweller's Dream Come True

Tesla Inc TSLA rival Fisker Inc. FSR provided more details about its latest EV, the Fisker PEAR, and it’s packing some cool tricks up its sleeve, all for an attractive starting price of $29,900. But the real showstopper? The “Houdini” trunk.

Funky Feature: For city dwellers and parking space strugglers, this feature is a game-changer. 

Designed with urban living in mind, the Fisker PEAR boasts a unique “Houdini trunk” that slides down behind the rear bumper.

This clever trunk design allows owners to load and unload their cargo in tight city parking spaces and navigate low-ceiling parking structures with ease. 

In the event of a rear crash, the trunk lid and glass move down behind the rear bumper beam.

Other Features: The Fisker PEAR also features a drawer-like front boot, or “froot,” perfect for storing anything from pizza delivery to sweaty workout gear. And for those who want to keep their food hot or cold, an insulated froot option is available.

2 Battery Options: Under the hood, you’ve got two battery options, offering ranges up to 320 km or 560 km. Fisker claims the car goes from 0-60 mph in a respectable 6.3 seconds. And you can choose between rear-wheel and all-wheel drive.

Fisker said it plans to make the PEAR carbon neutral by 2027. Manufacturing and deliveries of the car are slated to begin in July 2025.
