A seemingly fresh image of Tesla Cybertruck's frunk has surfaced online, eliciting a diverse range of reactions.
The picture shows the Cybertruck frunk with liners installed and it is seemingly shallow. Benzinga was not able to independently verify the source of the image but Tesla Inc. TSLA fans and critics on X (formerly Twitter) have some fascinating reactions to it.
The Negative: A few users noted lack of depth in the frunk from the picture, citing the risk of things falling out. “Need a little deep/low (down) frunk so that things don't fall off when we open the frunk,” a user wrote.
Other, meanwhile, drew a parallel with Ford‘s F-150 Lightning to conclude that the frunk looks way smaller in comparison. “Looks like ford wins on this round,” a user wrote.
The Positive: Several users noted how the frunk can be made into a makeshift bench or camping chair. “Me like Cybertruck frunk – easy to load unload and sit on cushion to enjoy cold drinks in Texas Heat,” a user wrote.
Others disputed the take that it is smaller. A user described it as the ‘biggest frunk Tesla’s ever shipped’ and said, “I find it funny how often the public discourse is completely wrong.”
The Hopeful: Yet another category of users were optimistic, refusing to reach conclusions from merely pictures. “For some reason that looks small, but in reality the cybertruck is enormous… so… it must be big,” a user wrote.
A Ford Lightning fan account handle even wrote, “But in all seriousness its a nice looking frunk. Curious to see real world applications and all of the cool things owners do with it. I am excited to see innovation and competition. Good Job Tesla.”
Why It Matters: At the shareholder meeting earlier this year, Tesla CEO Elon Musk said that the Cybertruck delivery event will be held later this year. Since then, anticipation has been high among Tesla enthusiasts. Recently, Musk said that the date of the event would be announced once Tesla is “ready.“
