Republican Senator Casts Doubt On Trump's 2024 Election Prospects Against Biden: 'Bring In A Uniter Rather Than A Divider'

In a recent interview with CNN, Republican Senator Mike Rounds expressed uncertainty over former President Donald Trump’s chances against President Joe Biden in a potential 2024 general election face-off, The Hill reported.

Rounds stated, “We don't know. That's one of the concerns that a lot of people have got — me, as well.”

"It's the reason why I think if we bring in a uniter, rather than a divider, I think we've got a better shot at doing what's right for this country long term. And that's what I want,” he added.

He reiterated his endorsement for his Senate colleague Tim Scott in the 2024 presidential primary.

Although Rounds criticized Trump for his actions on Jan. 6, 2021, he refrained from stating whether he would back Trump in 2024 if he were convicted of a crime and still won the party’s nomination.

Despite facing four criminal indictments, two of which are related to his 2020 election results dispute, Trump currently holds a significant lead in 2024 GOP primary polls.
