Marjorie Taylor Greene Credits The Almighty For Burning Man Woes: 'God Has A Way Of Making Sure Everyone Knows Who God Is'

In a recent turn of events, a severe deluge at the annual Burning Man festival has been described as an act of divine retribution by leading Republicans, as reported by Rolling Stone.

What Happened: The Burning Man festival, traditionally held in Black Rock City, Nevada, faced an unprecedented level of rainfall this year, leading to muddy conditions and stranding thousands of festival-goers.

The extreme weather conditions resulted in the tragic loss of one life and caused the event’s closing ceremony to be postponed. However, the situation took a political turn when key figures suggested a religious angle to the calamity.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.), during an appearance on Alex Jones’ InfoWars show, suggested that the unfortunate incident at the festival was a divine sign, stating, “God has a way of making sure everyone knows who God is.” She also insinuated that festival attendees were misguided into blaming climate change for the disaster.

Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) expressed a similar sentiment on his X (formerly Twitter) account, attributing the floods to “God’s judgment” and challenging the moral correctness of the festival’s unconventional activities.

Andrew Torba, founder of Gab, a far-right social platform, and Jeff Clark, a former assistant attorney general, joined the chorus with similar views, with Clark labeling the festival a “neopagan ritual.”

Why It Matters: The Burning Man festival has been grappling with weather-related issues even before its commencement.

Tropical Storm Hilary had already disrupted the festival preparations, making the site impassable. Furthermore, a subsequent Benzinga article suggested that the stormy conditions posed significant health risks, adding to the festival’s woes.
