Reports suggest that Meta Platforms Inc. META is teaming up with LG Corporation to launch an upgraded Quest Pro virtual reality headset in 2025.
According to The Verge, a Korean news publication, Maeil Business Newspaper, uncovered that the tech giants are heading towards a joint venture. The new VR device could be priced around $2,000, featuring LG displays and components from LG subsidiaries such as LG Innotek.
The Korean publication also hinted at Meta’s plan to roll out a budget-friendly Quest headset next year that might be priced under $200. However, Meta has yet to comment on the matter.

The rumored pricing of the forthcoming headsets seems to deviate from Meta’s current pricing strategy. The Quest 2 retails for $299, while the announced Quest 3 is set to be sold at $499.
The alleged high-end headset, rumored to be named the “Meta Quest 4 Pro,” would break Meta’s tradition of keeping Quest and Quest Pro product numbering separate.
Despite the hefty $2,000 price tag, the new high-end Quest is believed to compete against Apple Inc.’s AAPL $3,499 Vision Pro headset.
The Mark Zuckerberg-led company has previously ventured into co-branded products before. The Oculus Rift S featured Lenovo branding, the production of Oculus Go was handled by Xiaomi, and Samsung produced the mobile Gear VR.
However, the supposed LG partnership would hold a unique position if it differentiates from these past alliances.
