Biden Told A Friend Obama Couldn't Say 'F*** You' Properly, Biographer Reveals In New Book

Joe Biden believes his use of curse words sets him apart from his former running mate, Barack Obama, according to an excerpt from a new book by president’s biographer Franklin Foer.

What Happened: The book “The Last Politician: Inside Joe Biden’s White House and the Struggle for America’s Future,” penned by Foer, recounts an instance where Biden purportedly told a friend that Obama “didn’t know how to say f*** you properly, with the right elongation of vowels and necessary hardness of his consonants.”

The book, which Business Insider obtained before its publication, delves into the differences between the 44th and 46th Presidents.

Biden’s perceived slight at Obama’s preference for former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton as his successor, for instance, still lingers.

Why It Matters: Despite a genuine affection between the two leaders, Foer suggests their interactions could occasionally be fraught.

“Biden also chafed at the constraints of his job — and if Obama sometimes rolled his eyes at him, he would roll his own right back,” Foer wrote.

“There was the tinge of class rivalry to their gibes.”

The biographer also highlights Biden’s complex relationship with class. Despite his pride in not being an Ivy League graduate, some of his closest aides hail from these elite institutions. Foer refers to these individuals as Biden’s “meritocratic trophies.”

Meanwhile, Foer earlier suggested that Biden’s decision to opt out of the 2024 race would not be a total shock. This potential decision could be influenced by the complexities and frictions between the two presidents, as highlighted in Foer’s book.
