Lucid To Debut Limited Production Air Midnight Dream Edition At IAA Mobility

EV maker Lucid Group Inc LCID will debut its new limited production configuration of the Lucid Air on Tuesday.

The Lucid Air Midnight Dream Edition will be up for viewing at the International Motor Show (IAA Mobility) in Munich at Lucid Studio, Odeonsplatz 2, the company said in a statement.

The car, dubbed ‘a dream in black,’ is a darkly styled configuration of the Lucid Air. It has a dark polished exterior trim and 21-inch Aero Dream wheels with satin black inserts. It also has darker interiors, said to be inspired by the Mojave Desert at night.

The vehicle, however, will only be available in Europe and not the U.S. It claims a combined range of up to 799 kilometers according to WLTP and a combined power consumption of 16.6 kWh/100km.

Other Lucid Limited Productions: Lucid will start production of its other limited-production vehicle- the Air Sapphire- in September and start customer deliveries in October, CEO Peter Rawlinson said during the company's second-quarter earnings call last month.

The Sapphire super-sports sedan can deliver 1,234 horsepower with its three-motor powertrain. It can also deliver an acceleration of 0-60 mph in 1.89 seconds and 0-100 mph in 3.84 seconds with an EPA-estimated range of 427 miles on a single charge.
