Tesla Investor Ross Gerber Applauds Disney's Charter Deal As A 'Win Win'

Tesla Inc. investor Ross Gerber lauds the recent deal between The Walt Disney Company DIS and Charter Communications CHTR as beneficial for both parties involved.

What Happened: Gerber expressed his positive view on the deal via X, formerly known as Twitter, calling it a “win win” for both Disney and Charter.

The deal in question is a transformative agreement for the distribution of Disney’s linear networks and direct-to-consumer services. As part of this arrangement, Disney+ Basic Ad-Supported Offering and ESPN+ will be included in Spectrum TV Select Video packages. Furthermore, Charter will make Disney’s Direct-To-Consumer Services available for purchase by its broadband-only customers.

Why It Matters: Prior to the agreement, Disney was in a dispute with Charter, which could have resulted in consumers missing out on NFL games and the U.S. Open tennis tournament.

The dispute was considered a potential boon for other companies, but the recent agreement seems to have averted this scenario. Gerber’s endorsement of the deal underscores its significance in resolving the dispute and potentially reaping benefits for both Disney and Charter.
