Challenge Trump, Biden, And More To A Chat Using Their Digital Avatars As AI Takes Political Stage

A new project called “Chat2024” is set to launch AI-powered avatars of 17 leading U.S. presidential candidates, including that of Donald Trump. Politico reported that the chatbots are designed to engage in political debates and answer voters’ queries, providing a unique approach to political discourse.

Chat2024 is the brainchild of Dara Ladjevardian, the co-founder of the AI startup Delphi. The chatbots are trained using data generated from various sources, including candidates’ video appearances and writings.

The AI avatars are seen as a PR move for Delphi’s services, but Ladjevardian believes they also offer civic value. He argues that AI avatars could play a crucial role in the future of campaigning, governing, and public opinion tracking.

Users can interact with the chatbots individually, ask the same question of all 17 at once, or set any two of them against each other in one-on-one debates. The project is set to launch on Wednesday officially.

While the project has received praise for its innovative approach, it has also raised concerns about the potential misuse of such technology. The AI avatars have been tested on Chat2024.com and are expected to improve by Election Day 2024, according to Ladjevardian.
