Kim Jong Un Meets Russian President At Space Facility Amid Talks Of Potential Arms Deal

North Korea’s leader, Kim Jong-un, and Russian President, Vladimir Putin, have held discussions at a Russian space facility, as North Korea launched missiles, South China Morning Post reported.

The meeting took place on Wednesday at the Vostochny Cosmodrome spaceport. The conversation could potentially lead to an arms deal, in defiance of global sanctions.

The Russian President expressed delight at Kim’s presence, as shown in Kremlin footage of the leaders’ firm handshake. Kim’s sister, Kim Yo-jong, and top military officials were also present, suggesting a military-focused agenda.

Experts speculate that Russia might seek artillery shells and anti-tank missiles from North Korea, while North Korea is interested in advanced satellite and nuclear-powered submarine technology.

Before the talks, Russian news agencies released images of the two leaders touring the vast space center. This meeting is symbolic, particularly after North Korea’s recent failed attempts to launch a military spy satellite.

With Russia’s eagerness for North Korea's artillery shells and Pyongyang’s desire for aid in satellite technology, the outcome of this meeting might have a significant impact on the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
