'Apple GPT' To 10-year Special Apple Watch And Bigger iPhones, 2024 Could Be A Blockbuster Year For Apple

Apple Inc. AAPL has a slew of major announcements lined up for 2024, including "Apple GPT", 10-year anniversary special Apple Watch Series X, and bigger iPhones.

What Happened: While 2023 has been an average year for Apple when it comes to product launches, Bloomberg columnist Mark Gurman says that Apple has a slew of new product launches and it also plans to enter the generative AI race with "Apple GPT" along with a new large language model.

"While the product lineup for 2023 will probably let Apple meet financial targets this holiday period, it really just serves as a stopgap for 2024, when larger changes are planned," Gurman said.

Apple GPT: Key amongst these announcements that Apple has planned for 2024 is its entry into the generative AI race with "Apple GPT", an internal name for Apple's AI chatbot solution.

Apple is also working on a large language model of its own called Ajax, which will help it compete with the likes of Microsoft Corp. MSFT backed OpenAI, Alphabet Inc.'s GOOG GOOGL Google PaLM2 and Gemini, and Meta Platforms Inc.'s META LLaMA.

Apple Watch Series X: Apple revolutionized the smartwatch industry with the Apple Watch. Launched in 2015, the Apple Watch went from being just another fitness tracker to a lifesaving device. Gurman says we could see the 10-year anniversary special Apple Watch Series X launch in 2024 or 2025.

Bigger iPhones: Apple is expected to increase the screen size of the ‘Pro' iPhones. As such, we could see the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max with larger displays than their predecessors.

M3-Powered Macs: According to the columnist, the highly-anticipated M3-powered Macs have been delayed to 2024. We could see the 3-nanometer Macs across the portfolio, including MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, and more.

Apart from this, the columnist says we could see Apple refresh the iPad lineup, with the iPad Pro expected to see its first design refresh in five years. Apple also has accessory upgrades in the pipeline.
