The Action Button was first made available on the Apple Watch Ultra. However, while this button is an extra control option on the Watch, it replaces the mute/silent switch on the iPhone. As a result, if you decide to use the Action Button for anything else, you lose the one-click mute/silent functionality.
With that out of the way, let's understand how to use the iPhone 15 Pro's Action Button.

How To Use iPhone 15 Pro's Action Button
First things first, you will have to long-press to trigger the Action Button on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max.
- To get started, go to Settings > Action Button.
- An image of the iPhone's side will now appear on the screen.
- You can now swipe through to view all the actions that can be assigned to the button.
- If an action has additional options, an arrow symbol will show up. Tapping the button will reveal the options available.
There are eight actions you can choose from:
- Silent Mode
- Focus
- Camera
- Flashlight
- Voice Memo
- Magnifier
- Shortcut
- Accessibility
The Camera action has multiple options – you can choose to take a photo, a selfie, a portrait, a selfie portrait, or even shoot a video.
The Shortcut action also triggers the action or shortcut you have already set in the Shortcuts app.
