Tech billionaire Elon Musk is reportedly considering the introduction of X Premium tiers, triggering a wave of questions and discussions among users.
What Happened: Earlier this month, Musk unveiled his plan to address the issue of bots on Twitter, now rebranded as X, during a conversation with Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
At the time, Musk proposed implementing a “small monthly payment” to access X, aiming to combat the proliferation of “vast armies of bots.”

On Tuesday, X News Daily shared a particularly curious rumor about X Premium tiers.
It’s speculated that the existing X Premium might be rebranded as “X Plus,” while a new tier, possibly labeled “X Basic,” could be introduced. The implications of these tiers on current X Premium users remain uncertain.
While this move aligns with Musk’s efforts to monetize the platform, some intriguing details remain vague.
One user asked, ” How will X Plus benefit the present X Premium user?” Another person expressed concerns about censorship, stating, “None of this crap matters if the censorship isn’t removed.”
However, some users also deduced that the move might be aimed at expanding accessibility for verifying real human accounts and combating bot activity through a lower-priced tier.
They suggested that the differentiation between tiers might not be in the verification process itself but in the additional features offered.
Users are also curious about how this potential change would impact existing subscribers. Will current X Premium subscribers be moved to the new X Basic or X Plus tiers?
Why It’s Important: With only a fraction of the X user base subscribing to Twitter Blue, now called X Premium, the tech mogul might be eager to find a solution to monetize the platform effectively.
However, the specifics of the proposed payments and the features accompanying each tier are still under wraps.
