Virginia’s Governor, Glenn Youngkin, announced on Tuesday that he does not anticipate endorsing a candidate in the upcoming 2024 presidential primary, The Hill reported.
Youngkin stated at the Economic Club of Washington, “I don't expect to endorse anyone. I think voters should choose this, and I'm sure it will be a well-participated primary.”
The Governor, a respected figure within the Republican party, has previously hinted at his own potential presidential ambitions. However, he suggested that an official announcement regarding a 2024 campaign is possible, but not likely.
Youngkin also addressed questions regarding the age of presidential candidates, a hot topic considering incumbent President Joe Biden’s age of 80.
“I think the key thing is that they can do the job,” Youngkin said.
Despite this, he expressed concerns over Biden’s ability to manage the demanding schedule of the presidency.
