In a new memoir, Cassidy Hutchinson, a former top aide to the White House, alleged that she was asked to compile a “hit list” of Republicans who voted for the impeachment of then-President Donald Trump, following the Capitol riot on Jan. 6, 2021, Business Insider reported.

Hutchinson’s book “Enough” states that the list contained the headshots of the ten Republicans who supported Trump’s impeachment.

Reportedly, Trump kept this record of the dissenting Republicans close at hand.

“Mark [Meadows] gave the hit list to the president, who kept it on the Resolute Desk,” Hutchinson wrote.

It is widely known that Trump harbored resentment toward Republicans who held him partially responsible for the riot. Particularly, he sought to oust the 10 House Republican lawmakers who voted for his impeachment and the seven Republican senators who later backed his conviction.

In contrast to the House, where only two of the 10 initially dissenting Republicans remain, the situation in the Senate has been more complex due to the longer terms and more intricate relationships.
