Tick-Tock: Pixel 8 Pro Pre-Orders Will Get A Free Pixel Watch 2 Worth $349

As we inch closer to Alphabet Inc.'s GOOG GOOGL Google Pixel 8 launch, the rumor mill has a mouth-watering tip – Pixel 8 Pro pre-orders will get a free Pixel Watch 2.

What Happened: Google will give away a Pixel Watch 2 for free with Pixel 8 Pro to those who pre-order its upcoming flagship smartphone, according to tipster Kamila Wojciechowska.

While we don't know the exact price of the Pixel Watch 2 yet, the original Pixel Watch carried a price tag of $349. Based on the Pixel 8 Pro's rumored price of $999, the smartphone could essentially set you back by just $650.

Google is expected to launch the Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro, and the Pixel Watch 2 at its Oct. 4 event. While most of the Pixel 8 features have been leaked by now, the Pixel Watch 2 bundle is a new addition to this growing list.

According to Wojciechowska, the Pixel Watch 2 will retain the circular design and come with Fitbit's multi-path heart rate sensor for more accurate readings. It will also come with enhanced security features that will check on you to ensure you are safe. In its upcoming smartphone, Google is also expected to include Fitbit's stress monitoring system.

Pixel 8 Pro Expected Features: The Pixel 8 Pro will be powered by the Tensor G3 chipset with a 120Hz LTPO AMOLED display.

Google is expected to use a new 50MP ultrawide angle camera sensor in the Pixel 8 Pro, up from the 12MP resolution of the Pixel 7 Pro. The primary sensor is also expected to see a generation boost to GN2 from GN1 – the new sensor is said to capture up to 35% more light, which should improve the image quality.

The back could see a design tweak, with the camera module said to sport a unified visor design as against the split one on the Pixel 7 Pro.

Google is also said to offer up to seven years of software support – if this turns out to be true, it will be the new benchmark, beating Apple's record of five-year support.
