Ex-White House Aide Warns Of Grave Threat To Democracy If Trump Gets Re-Elected: 'Should Be Disqualified From Being The President'

Cassidy Hutchinson has voiced her concerns about the potential second term of her former boss Donald Trump as president, labeling him a serious threat to democracy, CNN reported.

Hutchinson warned that Trump’s alleged constitutional violations post the 2020 election loss could prove disastrous if he is elected again. She further emphasized her worries about the condition of governmental institutions under Trump’s reign.

"I think that Donald Trump is the most grave threat we will face to our democracy in our lifetime, and potentially in American history," she said.

In her book “Enough,” Hutchinson shares her experiences as a top aide to White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows during Trump’s attempts to overturn the 2020 election and the attack on the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.

Highlighting the gravity of the situation, she stated, “The counts that Donald Trump is currently facing – he is facing counts of obstructing the Constitution – to me that is disqualifying. Donald Trump should be disqualified from being the president of the United States.”

Hutchinson also expressed her sympathy for Meadows, who is among several former Trump aides currently facing criminal charges, as she hopes he is “doing the right thing” by cooperating with the investigations into the former president.
