Cloudflare Collaborates With Meta, Microsoft And Nvidia: What's Going On?

What To Know: Cloudflare announced a partnership with Meta to make the Llama 2 open source large language model (LLM) available to developers building AI applications on Cloudflare's developer platform

Meta's release of a publicly available LLM, Llama 2, allowed developers to run and deploy their own LLMs, but such still requires access to and managing of the infrastructure to run the LLM, Cloudflare said. 

As a result of the company's partnership with Meta, Llama 2 is now available for global usage on Cloudflare's platform, enabling developers to build applications with Llama 2 from anywhere. 

Cloudflare also teamed up with Microsoft to "build the railroad tracks that AI traffic and tasks will move on," according to Cloudflare co-founder and CEO Matthew Prince

Cloudflare and Microsoft will collaborate to make it easier for companies to run AI in whatever location makes the most sense across device, network edge and cloud environments.

Cloudflare also announced that its global network will deploy Nvidia GPUs at the edge alongside Nvidia's ethernet switches. It will also use Nvidia's full stack inference software to accelerate AI application performance.

"With NVIDIA's state-of-the-art GPU technology on our global network, we're making AI inference — that was previously out of reach for many customers — accessible and affordable globally," Prince said. 

Cloudflare also announced partnerships with Databricks and Hugging Face on Wednesday. 

NET Price Action: Cloudflare shares were up 4.55% at $59.26 at the time of writing, per Benzinga Pro.
