Gavin Newsom Believes Ron DeSantis 'Regrets' Running For President: 'He Took The Bait'

California Governor Gavin Newsom claims that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis regrets his decision to run for the presidency.

Newsom and DeSantis have agreed to participate in a debate on Nov. 30. During a discussion on Wednesday, Newsom suggested that DeSantis’ willingness to take part in this debate indicates his regret for running for president, Fox LA reported.

Newsom, speaking about his upcoming debate for the first time, expressed his doubts about DeSantis’ qualifications for the presidency.

He said, “The fact that he took this debate, the fact that he took the bait in relation to this debate, shows he’s completely unqualified to be President of the United States.”

His comments were further fueled by the DeSantis team’s decision to promote the debate, rather than his presidential campaign, on his X account.

Newsom said, “This guy is distracted, so I don’t know that he has it in his heart. Here’s my personal opinion about Ron DeSantis — he regrets running for President. He made a huge mistake.”

The debate between the two Governors is set to air at 9 p.m. ET on Nov. 30 on FOX News Channel. DeSantis has not yet responded to Newsom’s comments.
