Elon Musk Reacts To Interview Line-up Tweak That Crashed X CEO Linda Yaccarino's Debut At Code Conference

Linda Yaccarino, CEO of X, formerly known as Twitter, faced a challenging public introduction at the annual Code Conference.

Yaccarino, previously the head of global advertising at NBCUniversal, was set to make her first significant public appearance since her appointment. However, an unexpected schedule change rattled the new CEO.

Business Insider reported that an abrupt addition of a new panel featuring Yoel Roth, former head of Twitter’s trust and safety department and vocal critic of Tesla Inc CEO Elon Musk, threw a wrench in Yaccarino’s debut. This last-minute change led to criticisms of conference organizers, with accusations of “sandbagging” Yaccarino.

The new CEO took the stage shortly after Roth, visibly shaken. Audience members described her performance as a “dumpster fire” and likened it to watching a car crash.

Musk responded to one post and mocked Code Conference co-founder Kara Swisher.

“Kara should take it easy on the Adderall – foaming at the mouth is just not a good look,” he posted.

Despite the criticism, some defended the conference organizers, arguing that Yaccarino, as the highly-paid CEO of a significantly influential company, should have been able to handle the unexpected change.

Yaccarino’s camp had earlier insisted on the coveted closing speaker slot at Code, intending to make a splashy debut for the executive, who has been maligned as a puppet of Elon Musk.

The embattled CEO did not fare well during her interview with CNBC’s Julia Boorstin, failing to answer basic questions about the company.
