Why MrBeast Is Afraid He'll Go Broke: Inside The Crazy $10,000-A-Day Challenge

Renowned YouTube personality Jimmy Donaldson, popularly known as MrBeast, is facing financial concerns due to an unusual $10,000-per-day challenge that has unexpectedly extended beyond its initial timeframe.

What Happened: On Friday, MrBeast took to X, formerly Twitter, and shared that he purchased a random grocery store and pledged to give $10,000 daily to a random individual as long as they lived inside it.

However, what initially seemed like a lighthearted stunt has evolved into a prolonged endeavor as the recipient, whose identity remains undisclosed, according to the YouTube sensation, has shown no intention of leaving the store, even after weeks have passed.

The situation sparked a flurry of reactions on social media, with users calculating the growing financial burden on MrBeast.

One user noted that by the end of two weeks, MrBeast would already owe $175,000, but the YouTuber revealed that it had been over a month since the challenge begun.

Comparisons were drawn to a video by MatPat, suggesting that someone could potentially survive for over 60 years in a grocery store, raising questions about the long-term sustainability of MrBeast’s commitment.

Amid the humorous remarks, some users expressed willingness to endure such a challenge, vowing to stay in the store as long as food and beverages were available. Others recounted their own experiences of surviving inside retail establishments.

Why It’s Important: Previously, it was reported that Donaldson once turned down a $1 billion offer for the MrBeast brand.

During an interview, he provided an estimated future valuation for his YouTube company turned creative empire, which includes a Beast-branded mobile game, a restaurant, chocolate bars, and more.

“It’s so crazy, I don’t even want to say it…it would probably be like $10 billion, $20 billion,” Donaldson said on the show.

At the time of writing, MrBeast’s official YouTube channel had more than 187 million subscribers.
