Tesla Inc TSLA CEO Elon Musk on Friday offered a profound insight on why he receives backlash from both the United Auto Workers, or UAW, union and U.S. President Joe Biden.
What Happened: “Judge someone by the virtues of those who love them and the vices of those who hate them,” Musk wrote on X, formerly Twitter. The Tesla CEO was responding to a user who noted that the “hate” against Musk by both the parties makes “no sense.”
Tesla and Musk fans have often accused the Biden administration of not supporting Musk’s ventures. They have also exchanged several digs to fuel the claims.
Most recently, Musk accused Biden of extending support to the UAW protest while not paying attention to immigrants allegedly moving into the country via the south border.
UAW President Shawn Fain, too, has slammed Musk as “greedy” in the recent past. Musk is against unionization and has said that the ongoing strike against the Detroit three companies for better pay and incentives will make them go bankrupt.
Biden himself joined the striking workers at a picket line in Michigan on Tuesday. "Stick with it," Biden told workers. "Because you deserve the significant raise you need and other benefits." Biden added that the workers should indeed be able to bargain for a 40% pay hike.
