Jason Carter, a former Georgia state senator, said in a video chat that his grandfather’s commitment to regular exercise, like jogging and cycling, has significantly contributed to his long life. “Stay active,” Jason recommends, TIME reported.

However, Jason acknowledges that his grandfather might have a different answer. He believes Jimmy Carter would say that his wife of 77 years, Rosalynn Carter, is his life’s pinnacle, which is the real secret to his longevity.
