What's Going On With Nio Stock Monday?

NIO Inc NIO shares are roughly flat on Monday. The EV maker announced delivery numbers over the weekend.

What Happened: Nio said it delivered 15,641 vehicles in September, representing an increase of 43.8% year-over-year. The deliveries consisted of 11,504 SUVs and 4,137 sedans.

Vehicle deliveries for the third quarter totaled 55,432, up 75.4% on a year-over-year basis. Cumulative deliveries have now climbed to 399,549.

Nio said it launched and began delivering its all-new coupe SUV EC6, based on Nio technology 2.0, in mid-September.

Nio shares trended lower last month. On Thursday, reports suggested the company held exploratory talks with Mercedes-Benz regarding a potential investment in exchange for Nio sharing its research and development capabilities.

At the beginning of last week, Nio shares slid after a Bloomberg report suggested the company was considering raising around $3 billion from investors in the Middle East.

In response to the report, Nio said it was aware of media speculation and wanted to clarify that it had no "reportable capital raising activity" beyond its convertible notes offering, which was announced the week before.
