The impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden is set to include the questioning of a federal prosecutor, Attorney Matthew Graves.
The House investigators will conduct a closed-door interview with Graves on Tuesday, NBC News reported. This comes amid allegations from an IRS whistleblower that Graves declined to work with Special Counsel David Weiss, who had been investigating tax charges against the president’s son, Hunter Biden.
The Justice Department has yet to comment on the matter, while Weiss’ office declined to comment.
The move to seek Graves’ testimony follows claims by IRS’s Gary Shapley that Graves had refused to prosecute Hunter Biden in his jurisdiction and later declined to collaborate with Weiss.

House Republicans have suggested possible White House meddling, arguing that these revelations contradict Attorney General Merrick Garland‘s claims that Weiss was authorized to prosecute Hunter Biden in any jurisdiction.
Garland has repeatedly denied having any contact with the White House and maintains that he appointed Weiss as special counsel at Weiss’ request.
The Biden impeachment inquiry was launched last month by House Republicans, and the first public hearing took place last week.
The Justice Department has agreed to make Weiss, Graves, and U.S. Attorney Martin Estrada of Los Angeles available for interview.
Additional gun charges were filed against Hunter Biden by Weiss last month, with indications of possible new tax charges to be filed in a different jurisdiction in the coming weeks.
