Trump's Son-In-Law Jared Kushner Says 'My Hope And Prayers' Are For Former President's Reelection In 2024

Jared Kushner, the former senior advisor and son-in-law to Donald Trump, publicly expressed his support for Trump’s potential reelection in 2024.

What Happened: Kushner, in an interview with podcaster Lex Fridman released Wednesday, endorsed Trump’s foreign policy achievements, specifically in the Middle East during his term in office, reported The Hill.

Kushner was in charge of Middle East policy during Trump’s presidency and he commended the former president’s foreign policy performance. He emphasized that Trump’s efforts are increasingly being acknowledged.

"I do think that the job [Trump] did as a foreign policy president was tremendous. Now, more and more people are beginning to recognize that," he said.

He pointed out the escalating conflict between Israel and Hamas in Gaza, attributing it to weak leadership under President Biden. Kushner stated, "Now, under President Joe Biden, this is the second war that's broken out in the world, and when you have weak leadership, the world becomes a less safe place," he said.

"My hope and prayers are that President Trump is reelected and that he's able to then restore calm and peace and prosperity to the world."

Kushner also spoke of the potential for the Middle East to become a crucial economic and diplomatic region for the U.S. under Trump’s administration. "When President Trump left office in 2021, the Middle East was really on a very positive trajectory, and if the right things happen, it can continue to be so."

During the interview, Kushner, who is Jewish, compared the attacks by Hamas to the 9/11 terror attacks in the U.S. He called on the global community to support Israel amid the conflict.

Meanwhile, Trump on Wednesday criticized Israel for its alleged intelligence failure during the killing of Quds Force chief Qassem Soleimani amid the ongoing conflict with Hamas. Trump also claimed Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu failed to provide assistance to the U.S. during the operation, stating, "I’ll never forget that Bibi Netanyahu let us down.”

As per polling aggregator FiveThirtyEight, Trump is averaging 55.9% support, in contrast to his nearest rival, Ron DeSantis, who stands at 14.7%.
