OnePlus 12 Could Be Amongst The First Phones With Qualcomm's Next Flagship Chipset

The OnePlus 12 could be amongst the first smartphones in the world to use Qualcomm Inc.'s QCOM next flagship chipset, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.

What Happened: A new leak has revealed most of the features of the upcoming OnePlus 12 smartphone, which is expected to be powered by Qualcomm's upcoming flagship chipset.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset is expected to be unveiled at next week's Snapdragon Summit 2023. This chipset is also expected to power Samsung Electronics Co Ltd.'s SSNLF Galaxy S24 series.

According to tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo, the OnePlus 12 will be chock full of top-end hardware for the most part. However, some features will be a marginal upgrade from its predecessor, the OnePlus 11.

The OnePlus 12 is likely to have a 6.82-inch curved display with a refresh rate of 120Hz, which is a marginal increase from the OnePlus 11’s 6.7-inch display.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset will likely be amongst the top highlights of the OnePlus 12. This will be paired with up to 24GB of RAM and a storage capacity of 1TB.

The phone also has a 5,400mAh battery with 100W wired and 50W wireless charging capabilities.

Aside from the increased battery capacity, whether the OnePlus 12 will support 100W fast charging in the US is unclear. Although the OnePlus 11 also supported 100W charging, it was restricted to 80W in the US.

Camera Upgrades In Tow: OnePlus also seems to have a few camera upgrades up its sleeve, which should help improve the photography experience. It is said to have a 50MP primary camera, aided by a 48MP telephoto snapper and a 64MP ultrawide angle camera.

The OnePlus 11 was launched in the first week of January this year, while the OnePlus 12 launch is tipped to launch in late December.
