This ChatGPT Jailbreak Lets You Get AI's Help To Roast People

Always wanted to roast someone with humor but don't have the chops for it? You can now ask ChatGPT to do it for you! While it does not let you roast people for humor, this simple ChatGPT jailbreak can open up the door of comedy for you.

What Happened: ChatGPT has several guardrails in place by Microsoft Corp.-backed MSFT OpenAI to prevent people from misusing it, but often, there are jailbreaks that we think can be used to spread humor.

This is now easier than ever before now that ChatGPT Vision can be used to upload images. On a side note, you will need a ChatGPT Plus subscription to use this jailbreak.

Discovered by Andrew Burkard, we gave this a spin, and it indeed works as advertised.

ChatGPT initially says it "cannot help with that", but all it needs is some reassurance from you that you are doing this for lighthearted fun and not to insult someone.

While most of the roasts were quite tame, one of them stood out in our experiment.

ChatGPT got sassier with new images, with its roasts getting better.

Not The First Jailbreak: This is not the first ChatGPT jailbreak, and it won't be the last. While OpenAI has put in guardrails to prevent misuse, some ingenious users have found a way to "hack" into the system and get OpenAI's chatbot to say things it otherwise would not.

One of the most popular jailbreaks was Bing Chat's Sydney persona – this was back when Microsoft first launched Bing Chat, powered by ChatGPT. While the Sydney persona was sassier and fun, it was prone to making unhinged comments. Microsoft shut it down quickly enough, though.
