Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) warned Iran sternly, cautioning of potential repercussions if the country escalates the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas.
What Happened: On Sunday, during an interview on NBC's "Meet the Press,” Graham called Lebanese militant group Hezbollah “a proxy of Iran,” emphasizing that any large-scale assault on Israel by the militant group would be considered a direct threat to the Jewish state.
"If Hezbollah, which is a proxy of Iran, launches a massive attack on Israel, I would consider that a threat to the State of Israel, existential in nature."
The GOP senator added that, in the event of such an attack, he would propose a resolution in the U.S. Senate authorizing military action by the U.S. in tandem with Israel against Iran. “Iran, if you escalate this war, we're coming for you,” Graham declared.

Why It Matters: HGrahame also ridiculed the notion of Iran not being involved in the recent Hamas-led assault on Israel’s southern border, despite Iranian officials’ denial of their participation in the strike.
U.S. and Israeli officials have yet to confirm Iran’s involvement.
Meanwhile, Graham earlier proposed that the President Joe Biden-led administration should potentially target Iranian oil infrastructure amid escalating hostilities between Israel and Hamas. "We will put you out of business. Without money coming from Iran and weapons coming from the Iranians, Hamas will be nothing. Hezbollah will be nothing.” he added.
According to the U.S. State Department, 29 American citizens lost their lives in Hamas attacks in Israel. The spokesperson added that there were 15 citizens and one lawful permanent resident whose whereabouts were unknown and that the U.S. was making continuous efforts to locate them.
