Iranian Foreign Minister Warns 'Preemptive Action' Against Israel Soon: 'We Cannot Be Indifferent To The War Crimes'

Following Israel’s bombing of Gaza, Hossein Amirabdollahian, the Iranian foreign minister, warned of a likely “preemptive action” against Israel in the imminent future, as reported by Iranian state TV.

According to The Hill report, Amirabdollahian made it clear that Israel, which is currently engaged in an air campaign against the Palestinian militant group Hamas, will face consequences for their actions in the Gaza Strip.

“Leaders of the resistance will not allow [Israel] to take any action in Gaza … All options are open and we cannot be indifferent to the war crimes committed against the people of Gaza,” Amirabdollahian stated, as translated by Reuters.

He added that “the resistance front is capable of waging a long-term war with [Israel]… in the coming hours, we can expect a preemptive action by the resistance front,”.

He warned that if the crimes in Gaza do not stop immediately, new fronts will be opened.

Since Oct. 7, Israel has been at war with Hamas, which controls the Gaza Strip. Over 4,000 lives have been claimed in the conflict, caused by Hamas’s surprise assault on Israel by land, air, and sea.

The ongoing conflict has created unrest in the region, with U.S. officials worried that Iran-backed Hezbollah might open a second front. The last war between Hezbollah and Israel took place in 2006.

Amirabdollahian also expressed on X, formerly known as Twitter, that “time is running out for political solutions” to the war.
