Luxury EV maker Lucid Group Inc LCID will formally unveil its Gravity SUV— the first SUV from the company— on November 16 at the LA Auto Show.
What Happened: “Lucid Gravity, our next force of nature, makes contact on November 16 at the LA Auto Show,” Lucid wrote on X, formerly Twitter. The vehicle- which the company expects will change the world of SUVs- is expected to start production in late 2024.
The Gravity SUV is expected to have flexible seating options for five, six or seven adults and a glass cockpit. The vehicle will be available in two or three-row seating configurations and will also have sufficient cargo space. Gravity, Lucid says on its website, will have a range ‘beyond anything else on the market except Lucid Air.’
The price range for the upcoming vehicle, however, is not known.
During the company's second-quarter earnings call in August, CEO Peter Rawlinson responded to questions on the price range of the SUV and said, "Well, we've indicated for some time now to anticipate prices very similar to the sort of price structure that you get with Lucid Air. But we're not in a position today to disclose those prices."
The company also clarified that it has enough capital for the start of production of Gravity. The company ended the second quarter with total liquidity of approximately $6.25 billion. "We expect this will give us runway through the start of production of Gravity and into 2025," CFO Sherry House had said.
LA Auto Show: The LA Auto Show kickstarts on Nov.17 and will go on till Nov.26 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Several key players from the automotive industry are expected to showcase their vehicles at the show including Acura, Ford, Aston Martin, Lotus, Polestar and Porsche.
