Trump's Niece Taunts Uncle Over Judge's $5K Fine And Imprisonment Warning For Gag Order Violation: 'He's Pouting Harder'

Zinger Key Points
  • Trump was fined $5,000 by New York City civil court judge Arthur Engoron for violation of gag orders.
  • The ex-president is facing a series of cases even as he continues to lead the GOP presidential primary race.

As Donald Trump fights out the New York civil fraud case trial, the going has become tough for him. Friday, the former president was fined $5,000 for violating the limited gag order imposed by New York City Civil Court Judge Arthur Engoron and was also warned of imprisonment.

What Happened: Mary Trump, the psychologist niece of Donald Trump, on Friday shared on X, formerly Twitter, a photo of her uncle in the courtroom with a gloomy expression on his face and said, “Judge Engoron just threatened Donald with prison for violating his gag order.”

“Hey, look–he’s pouting harder,” she added.

Incidentally, Donald Trump was also recently hit with a partial gag order by District Court of Columbia District Court Jude Tanya Chutkan, who is trying his 2020 election subversion case.

Earlier this week, Mary Trump and her guest in the “Deep Dives” interview concurred that the chances of Donald Trump spending his nights in a jail cell increase and that he will most likely violate the gag order.

Why It’s Important: Judge Engoron on Friday took exception to the failure of Donald Trump’s team to remove one of his derogatory posts about the court clerk from his campaign website. When Donald Trump posted the same on the Truth Social platform, Engoron imposed the gag order on Oct. 3. Subsequently, the social media post was taken down.

The judge apparently was displeased with the violation and lashed out at Donald Trump’s lawyers, questioning them why he shouldn’t be imposing serious sanctions, including financial sanctions, or possibly imprisoning him.

The legal team of Donald Trump reportedly apologized to the judge, stating it was an errant oversight and was done inadvertently.

Despite the mounting legal challenges, Donald Trump is the leading contender in the Republican presidential primary race.
