Verizon Communications Inc. VZ shares are trading marginally lower by 0.4% to $31.44 Monday morning ahead of the company's Tuesday earnings report. Analysts estimate that Verizon will report EPS of $1.18 on revenue of $33.25 billion.
Verizon shares gained last week in sympathy with peer telecommunication company AT&T Inc. T after the company reported better-than-expected third-quarter financial results.
What Happened With AT&T Last Week?
In the third quarter of FY23, AT&T exceeded expectations by reporting operating revenues of $30.35 billion, marking a 1% year-over-year increase, and their adjusted EPS was $0.64, surpassing the consensus estimate of $0.59.
The positive results were attributed to increased revenues in the Mobility, Mexico and Consumer Wireline segments, although they were partially offset by decreased revenues in the Business Wireline segment.
