Toyota To Unveil Concept For All-Electric Land Cruiser Concept At Japan Mobility Show

Renowned automaker, Toyota TOYOF, is going to present an all-electric concept of their popular Land Cruiser SUV, among other innovative mobility solutions, at the 2023 Japan Mobility Show.

As reported by The Verge, the Land Cruiser “Se” concept showcases an angular design with a 120.08-inch wheelbase, which is larger than the wheelbase of the gas-powered 2024 Land Cruiser.

The additional space between the wheels is likely to accommodate a battery, with the rest of the design being aerodynamically optimized. The automaker mentioned the quietness of EVs as a key factor in creating a comfortable cabin space.

The Land Cruiser Se is designed to handle rough terrain, a feature that should appeal to fans of the classic gas off-roader.

Alongside the Land Cruiser Se, Toyota also unveiled a midsize electric pickup truck concept named the EPU, designed for outdoor activities and featuring a cabin that opens to the deck.

The automaker is also showcasing two personal transport vehicles: the “Land Hopper” electric trike and a powered “Juu” wheelchair. There’s also a space mobility prototype intended for traversing extraterrestrial landscapes.

The Land Cruiser Se appears to be Toyota’s first serious attempt at a large electric family vehicle, as its competitors rush to fill this segment. However, no release date has been announced for the Land Cruiser Se concept.
