How Would Tesla Analysts Respond To SpaceX Going Public? Elon Musk And X Users React With Laughter To Speculations

Tesla Inc. TSLA is a publicly traded stock under the ownership of billionaire Elon Musk, but his rocket manufacturing company, SpaceX, is not. If SpaceX were to go public, how might this development be received by Tesla analysts and President Joe Biden?

What Happened: X (formerly Twitter) user, YouTuber and Tesla investor Warren Redlich contemplated this idea on Friday, only to elicit laughs from several ends, including Musk himself.

What If SpaceX Were Publicly Traded?: In a post on X, Redlich noted that Tesla bear and GLJ Research CEO Gordon Johnson would likely say there is no demand for SpaceX and that the competition from ULA and the Chinese will bring down the company.

U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren would likely reiterate the need to tax the billionaire, while Tesla bulls including Gary Black, James Cat and Ross Gerber would pick certain aspects to criticize, Redlich said.

According to Redlich, Future Fund’s Black would rather say, “Elon should stop cutting prices on Falcon 9 launches, get over the Mars distraction, [and] focus on launching the high margin small satellite payloads.”

Redlich was taking a dig at Black’s recurrent criticism of Tesla’s ongoing price cuts and the Black’s opinion about trying alternate advertising strategies to boost sales instead.

Cat would present the pros and cons of SpaceX advertising, while Gerber Kawasaki Wealth & Investment Management CEO Gerber would highlight his disagreement for Musk’s personal opinions while also appreciating the company performance, Redlich said.

Reactions: The post elicited laughs on X and also speculations of how other analyst such as Ark Invest’s Cathie Wood would respond.

“This is hilarious and accurate,” a user wrote.

“Three of the above are $TSLA bulls Warren. Why try to divide the bulls? I guess you never played sports as a kid,” Black himself wrote under the post.

The Tesla and SpaceX CEO himself also responded with a laughing emoji on the post.
