Apple's M3 13-Inch MacBook Pro Unlikely To Be Revealed At 'Scary Fast' Event: Report

In a surprising turn of events, Apple Inc‘s AAPL expected M3 refresh for the 13-inch MacBook Pro may not be unveiled at the upcoming October event.

The anticipated 13-inch MacBook Pro update is still under development and is unlikely to be showcased soon, reported AppleInsider. This MacBook Pro, despite its last update with an M2 processor in 2022, remains an outlier in Apple’s product range.

The 13-inch MacBook Pro is notably the last in its line to feature a Touch Bar. Its value proposition has often been overshadowed by the MacBook Air and the 14-inch MacBook Pro in terms of price and performance.

Yet, it has been widely reported that a refresh for the 13-inch MacBook Pro, codenamed J504, is on the cards. This update was previously anticipated to occur before the end of 2024, as predicted by analysts like Ming-Chi Kuo and Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman.

Gurman also noted recently that the 13-inch model’s inventory was dwindling, hinting at a possible impending update. However, Bloomberg has now revised its stance, stating that the 13-inch MacBook Pro’s unveiling at the ‘Scary Fast’ event is unlikely.

According to Bloomberg, the model is not ready for launch. However, when it does arrive, it will feature the base version of the M3 processor. Gurman further added that the event will focus solely on Macs, with no expectations for any AirPods or iPad updates.

The ‘Scary Fast’ event by Apple is scheduled for Oct. 30, 2023, and will be streamed starting from 5:00 PM PT, 8:00 PM ET.
